(**Update and correction)City man arrested for allegedly stealing $2,000 work of silver necklaces from Jamestown Jewelry store...

A Jamestown man is jailed... and, city police are searching for about $2,000 in silver necklaces the suspect ran off with during a day-light burglary at a jewelry store.  Jamestown Police Captain Bob Samuelson says the alleged suspect... 28 year-old Darius Coleman of Jamestown... walked into Carlson's Jewelry at 31 North Main Street about 12:30 P.M. Wednesday... and, asked to see the necklaces.  Samuelson says the clerk brought over about 18 to 20 that were on a rack... which Coleman grabbed and ran off with.  He was later caught... without the silver.  Samuelson believes it's related to drugs. Samuelson says they found Coleman on East Fifth Street... and, while he had none of the stolen items on him... they had enough evidence to arrest him.  He says they're looking for the rack... and, the stolen necklaces.  Samulson says he believes the rack was discarded at some point along the way... and, that Coleman "handed-off" the jewelry to an accomplice.  He's being held pending arraignment on a Grand Larceny charge.  If you have any information on the theft... call city police at 483-7537... or the JPD Tip-line at 483-TIPS.
