(**Alert)Jamestown-area man under arrest in PA for arson in Butler County also charged with 12 local arson fires in Jamestown, and massive fire in Falconer from Mar. 22...
 
A Jamestown man has been arrested for allegedly setting 12 local arson fires... including five during a 24-hour period late last month on the city's northside.  In addition... City Police Chief Harry Snellings says 19 year-old Jonathan H. Young is also accused of setting the huge fire that destroyed nearly a half-block area of West Main Street in Falconer.  Snellings say Young was arrested in Butler County, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, March 28th, on unrelated arson, auto theft, and burglary charges.  He says the suspect faces two counts of second-degree Arson, nine counts of second-degree Arson, and one count of fifth-degree Arson.  Snellings says City Police received a call from the Butler County Jail this past Monday... saying that they had a suspect in their facility they believed was from the Jamestown area charged with arson.  However... they said that when Young was arrested on March 28th... he had no identification in his possession and gave authorities several false names.  He's being held in Butler County on $75,000 bail... pending further court action.

Jamestown police investigators were in Butler County Tuesday to formally file charges against Young there as a detainter.  Chautauqua County District Attorney Patrick Swanson says the second-degree arson charges are for the two occupied buildings that were set on fire... incluing 29 to 39 West Main Street in Falconer.  The other was for an occupied apartment at 621 East Sixth Street in Jamestown, which was the first fire Young is accused of setting on March 2.
